Ohrid, 16 December 2018 (MIA) – The Ohrid Municipality Council at its Sunday morning’s session unanimously declared Monday, Dec. 17, a day of mourning in the city, after the sudden death of Ohrid Mayor Jovan Stojanoski on Saturday.
All entertainment events previously scheduled for Monday have been canceled.
The Ohrid City Hall will hold a commemorative session for Stojanoski on Monday morning, after which his remains will be buried at the Ohrid City Cemetery.
Jovan Stojanoski taught at the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality in Ohrid and had been serving as Ohrid Mayor since Oct. 20, 2017.
Stojanoski, 48, died suddenly from a cardiac arrest on Saturday morning in an ambulance en route to the Ohrid hospital. He leaves behind his wife and two children. mr/14:18
